One of our favorite talks of all time, Mailchimp Founder Ben Chestnut speaks on one of the most poignant topics of all time, quitting your job to do what you love.
Ben speaks on the history of the company and what he does as a manager to cultivate the infamous Mailchimp culture. If you are running a creative business do yourself a favor and watch the talk!
CreativeMornings ♥’s MailChimp
MailChimp has been a big part of CreativeMornings for years. From covering breakfast at the earliest NYC events and presenting our global month on “Happiness" to helping start our Atlanta chapter and pointing out that you can rearrange the letters in "Debbie Millman" to spell "Denim Millbabe,” MailChimp has been an irreplaceable ally for CM.
Since 2009, we’ve had the pleasure of growing alongside MailChimp and getting to know their founder, Ben Chestnut, who gave one of our favorite talks last year. When we asked them about coming onboard as an Official Partner, we shouldn’t have been surprised by their continuing generosity.
Apart from providing a great product (to design and send email newsletters), they embody a wonderful brand, have an adventurous mascot, and seem to continually find ways to delight their community. Their support will help us launch new cities, equip hosts with shiny tools, and grow our small, passionate team at HQ.
We’re honored to formally announce MailChimp as our newly minted Official Partner for Communication!
To celebrate, enjoy an animated gif of Freddie making it rain donuts. (Thanks, Kate!)

What other way to celebrate a month of money than with a MONEY MACHINE at CreativeMornings/Atlanta? Check it out from their event with Keith Wilmot. Photos by Tim Lampe.

The Atlanta chapter of CreativeMornings is organized by Blake Howard. Follow along with them at @Atlanta_CM!
Check out some more excellent sketch notes from January’s CreativeMornings/SanFrancisco all about “Happiness” with Willo O’Brien.
Willo has made a career out of creativity. As an artist, social supercollider, and self-described geek for over a decade, Willo has a passion for empowering fellow creative entrepreneurs. Notes by the always great Bernie Quah.
Whoa! At January’s CreativeMornings/Geneva, they had a Happiness Photo Booth!
Asking the question, “What makes YOU happy?” attendees wrote or drew what makes them happy. The photos were taken by the talented Josh Fassbind, a local photographer with a project called “Faces of Geneva.”
Nelio and the folks behind the Geneva CreativeMornings team invited him to do a small photo session at the event. The results are *awesome.*
Ben is the CEO and co-founder of MailChimp.com, one of the most successful e-mail marketing companies around, with over 1.2 million users. They were recently featured in “Fast Company” for their non-traditional corporate culture and creative environment. In this CreativeMornings presentation, Ben talks about the history of the company and what he does as a manager to cultivate such a creative culture. You DON’T want to miss this!
